Construction

At Sea Mount, we go beyond industry standards by using over-sized channels for our top drive unit beams, ensuring superior strength and durability. While most 10-13K cradle lifts rely on a 6” x 2.50” channel, we use a 7” x 2.75” channel—a significant upgrade that provides greater structural integrity and long-term reliability. This added reinforcement not only enhances performance but also offers peace of mind and allows for future capacity growth, ensuring your boat lift investment is built to last.

Assembly

Sea Mount uses TIG welders with helium assistance exclusively. We weld our sheave housings on our I-Beams to direct the load over the whole beam. The pulleys will be inline with the cable to give a long lift to the bronze pulley inserts. Each lift is hand fabricated on our jigs to ensure a long and quiet lift. Our billet aluminum bearing carriers are far superior to the lightweight extrusions used by other brands. We use 316 stainless bolts to secure our channels.

Components

Our lifts use the best components in the industry. From our oversized billet aluminum bearing blocks to the Wheaton steel drive pipes. Many brands use cheap foreign sprinkler pipe. This is an acceptable practice and much cheaper however, tend to be weaker and has less resilience over time. Wheaton steel pipe (alligator pipe) is a domestic steel product that uses a proprietary 3 stage casting, tempering, and galvanizing process yielding a much stronger and longer lasting pipe.

AMS Drive components

Many competitors use gearboxes that are intended for constant velocity applications (conveyor belts) or have sent AMS’ product to be copied and call their own. AMS invented the purpose built marine hoist drive over 65 years ago and have maintained as well as innovated their products to todays standards. AMS are manufactured in Millersport Ohio to the highest tolerances and standards.

Aluminum Bunks

At Sea Mount, we use aluminum bunks exclusively in all our boat lift applications. Unlike traditional wood bunks, aluminum offers superior durability, eliminating issues like rot, splitting, and carpet wear. Additionally, aluminum bunks prevent cradles from floating, which can lead to cable fouling. While they require a higher initial investment, they align with our commitment to delivering exceptional quality and long-term reliability.

CERTEX

CERTEX certified cables and crimps. Many brands cut and crimp cables in house which is an accepted practice however Sea Mount feels that CERTEX is the leader in high capacity rigging. CERTEX exclusively utilizes LOOS cable crimps which guarantee a ZERO loss crimp translating into 100% the cable capacity at the crimp. Other brands cannot certify this, we can.
