We use over sized channels for our top drive unit beams. For example industry standard for 10-13k cradle lifts use a 6”x2.50 channel. Sea Mount uses a 7”x2.75” channel. We feel this offers piece of mind and room for growth.
Sea Mount uses TIG welders with helium assistance exclusively. We weld our sheave housings on our I-Beams to direct the load over the whole beam. The pulleys will be inline with the cable to give a long lift to the bronze pulley inserts. Each lift is hand fabricated on our jigs to ensure a long and quiet lift. Our billet aluminum bearing carriers are far superior to the lightweight extrusions used by other brands. We use 316 stainless bolts to secure our channels.
Our lifts use the best components in the industry. From out oversized billet aluminum bearing blocks to the Wheaton steel drive pipes. Many brands use cheap foreign sprinkler pipe. This is an acceptable practice and much cheaper however, tend to be weaker and has less resilience over time. Wheaton steel pipe (alligator pipe) is a domestic steel product that uses a proprietary 3 stage casting, tempering, and galvanizing process yielding a much stronger and longer lasting pipe.
Many competitors use gearboxes that are intended for constant velocity applications (conveyor belts) or have sent AMS’ product to be copied and call their own. AMS invented the purpose built marine hoist drive over 65 years ago and have maintained as well as innovated their products to todays standards. AMS are manufactured in Millersport Ohio to the highest tolerances and standards.
Sea Mount uses aluminum bunks exclusively in all of our applications. Main advantages to this are no rot, split, carpet tear, or your cradle floating yeilding fouled cables. Aluminum bunks are an added expense however throw back to our mission of providing the best possible product.
CERTEX certified cables and crimps. Many brands cut and crimp cables in house which is an accepted practice however Sea Mount feels that CERTEX is the leader in high capacity rigging. CERTEX exclusively utilizes LOOS cable crimps which guarantee a ZERO loss crimp translating into 100% the cable capacity at the crimp. Other brands cannot certify this, we can.
Sea Mount’s 4 Post lift, our most popular, exceeds industry standards with oversized channels, sealed gearbox for quiet operation, large proprietary billet aluminum bearing blocks, aluminum bunks standard, TIG welded construction, and an aesthetically pleasing dockside manner. Engineered for strength, durability, and a clean look they range from 8k to 35,000k. They can be customized with many options including shallow water cradles, walk board options, boarding stairs, sailboat bunks, and many other custom options. Like our 4 Post, our 6 post also exceeds industry standards with the same strength, durability, quiet operation, and great dockside looks, Sea Mounts 6 Post offers the flexibility to lift longer LOA vessels safely and easily.
Sea Mount has dozens of highly specialized builds under out belt. Our fabrication techniques provide the flexibility to create a lift to satisfy any application. From extreme speeds in high capacity lifts or a simple replacement lift to fit on existing pilings, Sea Mount can create a solution for you.
Sea Mount cradles are an economical way to increase the life span of existing lifts and provide safe storage of vessels that would usually require the purchase of a whole new lift. We have the ability to fabricate any cradle in any size or capacity from 6k to 40,000k or above. We also offer custom bunks, stanchions, shallow water cradles, and sized cradles for tandem davits.
Sea Mount’s PWC/Skiff lift is a mixture of function and pleasing visual attributes. Installation to an existing piling makes for an economical way to store your PWC or small Skiff. We offer a sealed gearbox, for quiet operation and no cable operation for a compact foot print. All aluminum construction and bunks sets our line of smaller personal vessel lifts apart.
